Tracking status updates are provided by courier services to inform customers about the current location and progress of their shipments. Different tracking statuses can provide insight into where your package is and when it might arrive. Here are some common tracking statuses and their meanings:

  1. Pre-Shipment / Label Created: The courier has received the shipping information from the sender, and a shipping label has been created. The package has not yet been picked up or handed over to the courier service.
  2. In Transit: The package has been picked up by the courier and is on its way to the destination. It may pass through several sorting centers and transit locations before arriving at the final destination.
  3. Out for Delivery: The package has arrived at the local delivery center and is out for delivery to the recipient’s address. Expect the delivery to happen soon.
  4. Delivered: The package has been successfully delivered to the recipient’s address. In some cases, the courier may provide additional information, such as who signed for the package or where it was left.
  5. Attempted Delivery: The courier attempted to deliver the package, but the recipient was not available, or there was an issue with the delivery (e.g., an incorrect address or inaccessible location). The package may be held at a local pickup point or returned to the sender if delivery cannot be completed.
  6. Exception / Delay: There has been an unexpected issue during the delivery process, such as a customs hold, weather delay, or courier service interruption. The delivery may be delayed, and additional updates will be provided as the situation is resolved.
  7. Returned to Sender: The package could not be delivered to the recipient and has been returned to the sender. This may occur due to incorrect or insufficient address information, multiple unsuccessful delivery attempts, or the recipient’s refusal to accept the package.
  8. Customs Clearance: The package is being processed through customs in the destination country. This status indicates that the package is being inspected or assessed for duties and taxes before being released for delivery.
  9. Awaiting Pickup: The package is available for the recipient to pick up at a designated location, such as a courier facility or local postal office.
